No lice does not have wings, they do however like to jump great distances. Lice are attracted to DIRTY hair, not clean hair so please disregard any notion if you are “clean” you won’t get them. After spending tons of money and reducing myself to tears using over the counter pricey “kits”….I followed this doctors instructions and we instantly had relief. first of all, throw away the plastic comb it’s ineffective and this doctor has been lobbying the companies to replace it with the metal comb that works and they refuse to citing “it keeps customers coming back to buy more of our product”…..hideous! Spend the $10 to buy a metal comb….pick up some hair product such as “gel”, also pick up Pantene Conditioner. Wash the hair with lice shampoo (you can even find organic) then apply generously the Pantene Conditioner. Lay down a folded towel for comfort and have the child rest their cheek on the towel. Starting from the front of the hair line, in one felt swoop gently drag the metal comb from front ALL THE WAY to the end of the hair (not stopping), repeat cleaning the comb as you go. then rinse the hair and apply generous amts of hair gel followed by spraying lots of hairspray (lice will not want the dirty clumpy hair as their home)….they need a squeaky clean hair shaft to stick the egg to. As far as bedding/pillows etc……..place them in a hot dryer for 20 minutes or more it will kill any lice/eggs. and no human lice do not transfer to animals or vice versa
oh and I forgot to mention……you will have to repeat this process every 2-3 days for a few weeks……..the adult lice will die and some eggs will get removed by the metal comb……but the ones that remain will hatch…….and lay more eggs so you must be persistent during this cycle. This process is tons easier than the “kits” the stores sell you, it’s gentler on the kids which does wonders for Mom. I’m sure if you do a search on youtube you can find this doctor’s video, I emailed her in desperate need of guidance and she responded within 90 minutes! How awesome is that?!! Good luck, don’t give up!
